One day I had the great fortune of visiting Chris when he was based in the main offices of BP in St. James Square. We were excited to be able to visit meet there, but when lunchtime came around, he was bubbling to go for a walk in the neighbourhood. We ended up at Fortnum and Mason where I was agog with all the 'British-ness'. Before we left he had purchased us fly cakes for a treat. He was so pleased, and for the rest of my travels that week I was accompanied by fly cakes, and the memory of Chris's happy and pleased face as I bit into my first one. I guess I was a bit surprised by what I saw.
